How to Treat Reveals Around External Doors and Windows
The reveals round doors and windows are treated in the following way. Fix the straight edge board to the reveals and apply the floating coat on to the main surface. When this surface is dry, remove the wood and fix to the main wall faces. Fill incoat in the reveals, working out towards the corner. Immediately wash off any cement splashed on to the window or door frames.
When applying a top coat of shingle or pebble-dash, use the same technique for making a good angle as the floating coat. This time, only one board is needed. Fix this, leaving it 10mm proud of the surface, and apply the finish to this board. Allow the surface to set hard and then carefully remove the board. The second side of the angle can be completed by applying the finish up the straight line already set.
