Leaves: Dark green, glossy, lobed with toothed edges.

Flowers: Yellow, 3.5-5cm (1-½ – 2in) across, spring to late summer, open in sun.

Other features: Fluffy, globular seed heads — seeds dispersed by wind. Roots deep and tough. Perennial.
