Height x spread: 30-120 x 45cm (1-4 x 1-1/2ft).

Leaves: Dark green, long, narrow and wavy, triangular teeth and prickly spines.

Flowers: Pale purple, fading whitish; heads 1.5-2.5cm (5/8 in), summer to early autumn.

Other features: Creeping roots. Resistant to most herbicides. Perennial.
