Treating Toothache

If you develop toothache at night or during a weekend when you cannot contact your dentist, look in the Yellow Pages for a dentist who operates an emergency service (though fees for such services can be high). Alternatively, ask the Accident and Emergency Department of a hospital if they know a dentist who can help, or ask the nearest police station or chemist.

• While you are waiting for a chemist, relieve the pain by dabbing a little oil of cloves (available from chemists) on the sore area, and by taking painkillers such as aspirin in recommended doses.
